Furman comes in 7-14, yet it has been a great learning experience for the young team as it faces ACC powerhouse Clemson who has not lost a game since the tournament versus Central Florida. The Paladins are able to get two runners on base, but the Tigers was able to make sure they never touched home plate, and we head to the bottom of the first inning 0-0. The Paladins get two quick outs but then the Tigers put two on base when, #20 hits a blast to left center and a Tiger score is in and its 1-0 Clemson with runners on third and second. The Paladins are able to get the final out before Clemson does anything else.

The top of the second has Furman with the bases loaded and Clemson going to the bullpen early with #7 now on the mound. She is able to strike out #2 from Furman and the Tigers escape what could have been a big inning for the Paladins team. The Tigers in the bottom of the second are able to get another run with 1 out, as #33 comes in to pitch for Furman. Furman gets a out at first but the runner on third scores and its 4-0 Clemson in the lead. Furman is able to get out of the inning without my runs.

Furman goes down 1-2-3 in the top of the third inning as Clemson brings up the middle of its order to face #33 of Furman. Clemson #5 nails a 3 run homerun and its now 7-0 Tigers in the lead with a 230ft homerun. Furman now has a meeting at the mound and a new pitcher #11 Miller comes in for the Paladins. The Paladins commit a couple of errors and Clemson gets another run in and its 8-0 with no outs in the bottom of the third. The Paladins get two outs finally, but Clemson gets another run and its 9-0 Tigers leading. Furman gets out of the inning, and we head to the fourth inning.

Furman once again is unable to get any runs in the top of the fourth and now its Clemson again taking on Miller and they get a run as the runner at third races to home and is safe on a wild pitch. Clemson has now taken a 10-0 lead over the Paladins as Miller is doing her best to get the final out of the inning. Clemson hits a 238ft homerun for Hallie Whiteside her first of the year and now it 12-0 Tigers. Furman brings in a new pitcher #10 and Clemson still has a runner on base with two outs. Furman gets out of the inning, and we head to the fifth inning as Furman is down 12 and will need to score 5 runs to keep the game going and escape the run rule.
