MJF and Adam Page opened AEW Dynamite with a face-to-face promo in the ring. This segment was painfully slow with very little substance. After 15 minutes of surface level banter, MJF spit in Page’s face. Security failed to keep Page calm, until Christopher Daniels emerged, ending the segment.

The Opps versus The Patriarchy was next. The Opps laid it on thick against Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian, Christian Cage playing the heel, avoided early conflict. There was some back-and-forth, but this match was largely to put over the recently formed faction, The Opps.

Street Fight

Beef collided as Big Bill and Powerhouse Hobbs had a street fight. Battling through the crowd early, they ended up ringside, weapons scattered everywhere. Both men were stiff, Bill starting the major action by drawing color on Hobbs and chokeslamming him onto the steel steps. Bryan Keith emerged to help his faction-mate, Bill, set up some danger spots for later.

Hobbs got his turn, loud garbage can shots for Bill, and a chokeslam through a table for Keith. Bill was then tossed through a table covered in barbed wire, an extremely physical matchup for free TV. Bill was wrapped up in the barbed wire, and could not continue.

World Champions On AEW Dynamite

The new AEW Women’s World Champion, Toni Storm, came out for an in-ring promo. There are no new developments in Storm’s gimmick despite regaining the championship. The promo was vague, stating she could beat anyone on the roster.

Jon Moxley and the Deathriders took over the next segment before making fun of Cope. Along with Jay White, Cope made a surprise appearance, as the two tried to take on the Deathriders. Despite their usual dominance, Cope and White were in control. Cope will challenge Moxley for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship at Revolution.

Two Women Stood Out On AEW Dynamite

Kris Statlander versus Megan Bayne was next—the strikes, pace, and reversals were all on point in this one. Even including great power and strength, this was a PPV-quality affair. Penelope Ford appeared to aid Bayne in the victory, while Thunder Rosa came to save Statlander and end the segment. Unfortunate ending to a great match.

Ricochet And The Robe On AEW Dynamite

The next segment was a promo from Ricochet. After discussing his pinfall over Swerve Strickland, he made it clear, he wants gold in 2025. Prince Nana saved Ricochet from another cringe promo but assured Ricochet that Swerve would not blindside. Nana explained the history and importance of the robe Ricochet stole, and is wearing. Ricochet is undeserving, and Nana asks for the robe back. “Take it,” said Ricochet, “You’re not getting your robe back, Nana”.

The AEW main event saw Roderick Strong face Orange Cassidy in an International Championship tournament. Arguably, the best pace and reversals of the evening. Orange ate multiple, vicious backbreakers, before making the comeback to win. Cassidy will face Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW International Championship. The Don Callis family took advantage of the exhausted Cassidy, laying the boots down after the match. Kenny Omega came to his aid, and they took out The Don Callis Family to end AEW Dynamite
