From a trios title match to Samoa Joe naming a faction, this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was action packed. Keep reading for the 02/11/25 recap.
AEW Dynamite Opening Match
Max Caster and Adam Page opened AEW Dynamite with a singles match. Despite TV time leading up, Page made short work of Caster. This was a lacklustre payoff, to say the least.
Trios Action On AEW Dynamite
Undisputed Kingdom received a shot at the Deathriders and the AEW World Trios Championship. The chops were loud and the strikes stiff, but the match lacked a nice flow. All six men got their work in, but there weren’t many impressive reversals. While the action heated up near the end, the referee also let all six in the ring for numerous minutes. The Deathriders would both win the match and continue the beatdown after.
Katsuyori Shibata, Hook, and Samoa Joe had a squash match with the trio that was already in the ring. After getting the pinfall, Joe grabbed a mic. In short, Joe is forming a faction with his tag partners. Going by The Opps, they challenged The Patriarchy next week.
Jericho Calls Out Bandido On AEW Dynamite
Chris Jericho challenged Bandido, only to have Brian Keith help him jump Bandido in the opening. The Outrunners came to cancel out some of The Learning Tree, leaving Big Bill and Powerhouse Hobbs, with Hobbs coming out on top.
MJF Has No Friends On AEW Dynamite
After a heated exchange last week, MJF and Dustin Rhodes are scheduled to settle their differences in the ring. MJF singled out Rhodes’ left arm, laying some groundwork one would assume. Rhodes had MJF in at least two believable false finishes. After a tense kick-out from Rhodes, MJF quickly sunk in a submission, leading to the victory.
With an arm bar locked in after the match, Adam Page came to the ring to go face-to-face with MJF. AEW officials would try to separate the two, but they fought up into the crowd. More officials would chase them down, eventually separating the two.
Women’s Action On AEW Dynamite
Megan Bayne also received a squash match against someone already in the ring. Coming out for her match, Kris Statlander and Bayne had an interesting exchange, one would think something is to come of that.
The next match was Kris Statlander versus Penelope Ford. Ford was scrappy, but Statlander was largely in control early. Outside of a few slick reversals, Statlander powered her way through Ford. After the match, Megan Bayne attacked Statlander. Certainly more meat on the bone, there.
Championship Storylines On AEW Dynamite
The AEW World Tag Team Championship was on the line, The Gunns challenging The Hurt Syndicate. The underdog Gunns had a great showing in a back-and-forth match. The Hurt Syndicate looked faster and stronger than they had in years in the victory. Brian Cage and Lance Archer came to the entrance ramp, seemingly foreshadowing.
Jay White and Cope came to the ring with the briefcase Jon Moxley had been hiding the AEW World Heavyweight Championship. In short, he said, “Grant me a title shot if I break the briefcase.” The two will face off at Revolution, but the agreement of a match wasn’t enough. A brawl ensued, resulting in a preliminary tag match at Grand Slam.
