January 5, 2025
Raleigh, NC– The No. 19/22 ranked NC State women’s basketball team (11-3, 3-0) returned to the court to begin their 2025 quest for an ACC title with an exciting game against the visiting Boston College Eagles (10-7, 1-3.) Ther Eagles were seeking to steal a Quad 1 win on the road to start off the new year after back-to-back losses to Louisville and Duke. NC State entered the new year looking to extend their 6-game winning streak from 2024 coming off consecutive wins over James Madison and Clemson. The Wolfpack used a balanced attack to get the win over a Tigers team that found new fight under their new head coach. The Pack finished with 4 players in double figures to hold off Clemson.
The Eagles were picked to finish 15th in the preseason conference polls and led by Dontavia Waggoner. Waggoner is a familiar face in Raleigh as she was part of the 2021 team before making her way to Chestnut Hill. The Eagles are led by 7th year head coach Joanna Bernabei–McNamee.
