The Furman Paladins Football team this year has played with so much heart, and Coach Hendrix has said this season was a rebuild from the start. The Paladins knew facing SoCon Champs this year in Mercer it was going to be a learning experience. The Bears handed them a 49-23 loss on Saturday, and the Paladins still had allot to look forward to.

The Paladins played tough and never gave up even with the score out of reach, as Furman quarterback Trey Hedden threw for 210 yards and a touchdown, completing 19-of-41 passes with one interception. His favorite target was Colton Hinton, who matched a career high with nine catches for 109 yards and score on a 30-yard pass from running back Gavin Hall that staked Furman to a 7-0 first quarter lead.

Furman now looks forward to next season with allot of game experience on its 3rd and fourth team levels and should be back to full strength health wise going into the 2025 season. The Paladins will be expected to be a part of the top teams next year with returning starts and new players coming in. Coach Hendrix and his staff did a great job considering the obstacles they faced.
