Former Clemson defensive stars Shaq Lawson and DeShawn Williams are now on the main roster at the Carolina Panthers going into this week’s game with the Atlanta Falcons. Both were DW Daniel stars in high school in South Carolina and both have had pro starts on other teams.

The former first-rounder has 26 career sacks and has also been with the Jets and Dolphins while he also had a training camp stint with the Texans. When Jadaveon Clowney went down with a shoulder injury this past weekend against the Bears, it freed up an opening for Lawson and Williams. Carolina also elevated Lawson’s former Clemson and Daniel teammate, DeShawn Williams, from the practice squad. He played in 16 games last seasons while only appearing in two games this season.

Carolina also made a move to add depth to a O-Line that has been hit with injuries. The team signed versatile lineman Cade Mays off the Giants practice squad and added outside linebacker Thomas Incoom to the 53-man roster from their own practice squad. Mays, their sixth-round pick in 2022 had played for the last two seasons but was released during the 53-man cut this year after training camp. Austin Corbett is lost for the season to a biceps tear, and the Panthers had to get depth, and Mays can play center or guard, and they need that depth with Brady Christensen elevated to a starter and Andrew Raym in concussion protocol.
