In the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both programs, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (1-1, 0-1 ACC) and Virginia Cavaliers (2-0, 1-0 ACC) battled on Saturday night inside Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium among a near-capacity crowd of 30,012 fans and over 4,000 Screamin’ Demons as the Deacs dropped a heartbreaker to the Hoos, 31-30.

Wake seems to have the game in hand after being up 30-17 going into the fourth quarter, but Virginia went on a 14-point unanswered run and won 31-30 and get their first ACC win of the year and go 2-0 overall, while Wake took their first ACC loss and hope to bounce back next week.
