The Kentucky Women’s Basketball team is working hard on the recruiting trail. Coach Kenny Brooks has made a number of offers to future recruits. Over the weekend, he added another offer of 2027 guard De’Andra Minor. She announced the offer on the social platform X.
Minor is a 5’11” point guard out of Oklahoma. As she enters her Sophomore year and early in the rankings, ESPN has her as the number nine overall player in the class and rates her as a four-star player.

Coach Brooks has done an outstanding job since he took over at Kentucky in late March. He has built a team with NCAA Tournament expectations for this season, and has targeted a number of top ten recruits in the upcoming classes. Minor is the sixth recruit with an offer in the 2027 class.
Highly touted 6’7” Freshman Center Clara Silva is in Lexington
After spending the summer in her native Portugal playing in the FIBA U18EuroBasket tournament, Silva has arrived in Lexington this past weekend. Her arrival completes the upcoming team being all together for the first time heading into the start of the fall classes at Kentucky.

Silva led her her team to a 6-1 record and a fifth place finish in the U18EuroBasket, qualifying Portugal to their first ever U19 World Cup next summer. She averaged 18.7 points (T-1st), 7.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and two blocks (T-2nd) per game. She also shot 55.1% from the field, had three double doubles, and finished third in the MVP voting for the event.
Kentucky WBB schedule SEC play hot take
For Coach Brooks and his trusted All-American point guard Georgia Amoore, four of their first six games will be on the road in SEC play. That’s quite a gauntlet of an introduction in the world of SEC Women’s Basketball. The SEC is year after year one of the best in women’s college basketball.
The Cats will start at home on Jan 2nd against Mississippi State and then four of the next five are on the road. Trips to Vanderbilt, Florida, Georgia and Texas A&M are on the horizon. To make matters worse UK only plays 3 more home games the rest of January all the way to February 13th, when they welcome Texas to Memorial Coliseum.
