WWE Raw opened this week with Seth Rollins doing a promo for the upcoming match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, in which he will be the special guest referee. Seth called both men to the ring to go over some rules and regulations. He basically said that it’s up to him what discretion he will allow and that the two men cannot lay a hand on each other or him leading up to the match.

Otis and Tazawa would take on The Creed Brothers in a tag team match. This was a decent match with both teams getting their work in. The Creed Brothers would win and inflict further damage after the match. Chad Gable would get in the face of Maxxine Dupri, and then the music of The Wyatt Sicks would hit. Three men would ominously make their way to the ring. Sister Abigail would attack from behind, and The Wyatt Sicks would lay out The Creed Brothers while Chad Gable scurried away.

Sheamus would take on Bronson Reed next. This was a stiff match with both men displaying their power early on. Sheamus would have the highlight of the match – hitting a White Noise from the top rope with Bronson Reed on his shoulders. Pete Dunne would strike Sheamus when the referee was distracted, allowing Bronson Reed to hit a Tsunami and secure the pinfall victory.

Jey Uso versus Carlito would be next. The Judgment Day would send Carlito to deal with Jey after his recent advances toward Rhea Ripley. Jey Uso would win rather handily, hitting a spear to secure the pinfall victory.

Karrion Kross would take on Xavier Woods next. Kross would offer Woods a spot in The Final Testament instead of taking a beating that night. Woods would reply with a strike to the head, and the referee would ring the starting bell. Woods would put up a good fight, but he could not overcome the numbers advantage of The Final Testament on the outside without the injured Kofi Kingston at his side.

Sami Zayn versus Dominik Mysterio would be the next contest. A pretty good pace and back-and-forth ensued. Sami Zayn would reverse a 619 and appear to be in a position to win when The Judgment Day would appear and jump Sami, forcing the referee to throw out the match. Jey Uso would come to the rescue and clear them all from the ring. Sami would feel safe alone in the ring when Bron Breakker would attack him from behind. Somehow, Zayn would battle back from the blindside, causing Bron to retreat.

Lyra Valkyria teamed with Kayden Carter and Katana Chance once again to take on Zoey Stark, Shayna Baszler, and Sonya Deville. The match was okay, but it seemed to lack some stiffness; they were not snug at all. Zoey Stark ultimately got the pinfall victory for her team. Damage CTRL made a surprise appearance after the match and cleared the ring of all the other women. Iyo Sky topped it off with a moonsault from the top to the floor.

The main event would feature Gunther taking on Finn Bálor. Finn Bálor looked to soften up Gunther for Damian Priest before their title match that weekend. Bálor would start strong, but when he tried to chop down the big man, it only angered him, and Gunther would gain control. Among other things, Gunther would deliver some of his signature brutal chops. Gunther would win via chokehold. Gunther would reapply the hold after the match when Damian Priest ran to the ring, and the two would square off. The two would still be fighting when Raw went off the air.
