Coastal Carolina has announced the hiring of a new Athletic Director, Chance Miller. Miller will replace outgoing Athletic Director, Matt Hogue. Miller will begin his new role on July 16th. Hogue, is stepping down to pursue a new role beginning July 15th, 2024, developing a new Academic Center for Sports Broadcasting at Coastal. Miller comes to Coastal from the University of South Carolina, where he served as Senior Deputy Athletic Director since July 2019. Miller also served in the USC Office of Compliance since 2013.

Prior to his arrival at USC Miller worked at the NCAA as an assistant and associate Director on the enforcement staff. Prior to the NCAA Miller practiced law in New York City. Chance Miller’s title at Coastal will be the new Vice President for Collegiate Athletics and University Recreation.
Miller is a native of Johnson City, Tennessee and he earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Tennessee in 2004. He later received his juris doctrine from the New York School of Law in 2008. Miller and his wife, Lauren, have two children Carson and Caylor. Welcome Home and Chants Up!
