WWE NXT opened up this week with the General Manager in the ring to make an announcement. She would first introduce the special guest of the evening, Sexy Red. Felt like an odd choice to have a celebrity twerking in the ring, but she was there to unveil the new NXT Women’s North American Championship. This title feels unneeded, but isn’t bad to look at, very similar to the men’s version but with a white and red color scheme. There will be a 6-woman ladder match to determine the inaugural champion.

The first match was between Michin and Tatum Paxley for a spot in the aforementioned ladder match. The match itself was rather slow with choppy and awkward reversals. Michin would win via pinfall.

The next match featured Riley Osborne of Chase U taking on Ridge Holland. This match felt rather slow as well but at least Ridge got to show off some power and Osborne some high flying. The reversals were also awkward in this match. Ridge Holland would win via pinfall, despite Thea Hail stopping him from using the steel steps on her Chase U faction member.

Malik Blade and Edris Enofe would take on Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in tag team action. Gallows and Anderson would control the match early until Enofe would go on a roll of quick paced and high-flying offense on both men. The Veterans would end up being too much, withstanding the barrage in rather dominant fashion outside the spurt from Enofe. After the match, NXT Tag Team Champions would jump them after the match and award them the title shot, they earlier requested.

The next segment would have NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez cutting a promo about how she is the only one to show true commitment to the title. She also voiced disgust that this is how she had to find out about her next challenger. Ava, the General Manager, would come out and name her opponent. In a huge shock, it would be current TNA Knockouts Champion, Jordynne Grace. Grace would take to the mic in the ring and announce she is fully prepared to leave BattleGround. This is a huge match, breaking down forbidden doors, but this time, with a title on the line.

The next contest featured Arianna Grace taking on Lola Vice. Personally unfamiliar with Grace, she has the WWE facial expressions down but has a way to go with the wrestling. Lola Vice would win a pretty short match and will face Shayna Baszler at the upcoming PLE in a NXT Underground match. She would take a shot on the mic at Baszler on the mic after the match. The two would be kept separated by security.

Dante Chen would take on Lexis King next. The two would start out with lightning quick pace and high energy. This finish was rather weak, with Chen winning via rollup while Lexis was complaining about a slow 2 count. King would beat down on Chen after the match, ripping the mats off the cement floor and slamming him down to end the segment.

Wren Sinclair would take on Kelani Jordan to determine the final spot in the upcoming NXT Women’s North American Championship Ladder Match. The two would put on a faster pace match with more high flying then the earlier woman, but both have some work to do with the basics. Jordan advances to the ladder match.

The main even was Gallus taking on Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans. Williams and Evans would take control early with a quick pace and great tandem moves. The Veterans Gallus wouldn’t let this go for long, as Joe Coffee would slam one of them into the steel steps to gain control headed into commercial break. Great back and forth as NXT Champion, Trick Williams, would be on a great roll after the break, even attempting a double pin. Williams would hit Trick Shot to secure the pinfall. After the match, another shocker, as Ethan Page would take out Trick Williams.
