WWE King and Queen of the Ring takes place this Saturday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. With multiple crowns and multiple championships on the line, this is sure to be a golden event full of royalty. Let’s break down the card.

As of writing this article, SmackDown is the only show left to take place. Gunther, the Raw King of the Ring tournament winner, is set to face the winner from SmackDown. Randy Orton is set to face Tama Tonga to determine who advances to the finals. For this article, I’m going to give the win to Randy Orton. WWE will want the biggest names in Saudi, and Tama Tonga is a new name (in the WWE anyways). So, let’s assume Gunther versus Randy Orton. This is a match I can’t wait to see, destined to be a classic. I think WWE would be smart to continue the dominant run of Gunther after dropping his title because basically he was too dominant for the Intercontinental Championship, perhaps royalty could lead him to main title opportunities. Randy Orton has done it all and needs this win far less. Give me Gunther is a classic.

We have a similar situation for the women, as Raw winner, Lyra Valkyria, is set to face the winner from SmackDown on Friday. Nia Jax and Bianca Belair will face off on Friday. This event being in Saudi plays a big part in my picks, and I think they will be demanding all the biggest names. That being said, the bigger draw (and not to mention more talented wrestler) is Bianca Belair. Lyra Valyrica versus Bianca Belair is a tougher call. Bianca is already half of the Tag Team Champions, and the push to Lyra seems to be fast and hard, beating a tough line of Dakota Kai, Zoey Stark, and Iyo Sky to make it here. With the push of a new young star who appears to be getting over with the crowd, it seems like a good call to have a former champion and current tag champion to put her over, making the crown and push mean even more.

Becky Lynch will be defending the WWE Women’s World Championship against Liv Morgan. Becky won the title after Rhea Ripley was forced to vacate it due to injury, an injury cause by Liv Morgan’s revenge tour nonetheless. When Rhea left early to mid-April, it was estimated she could return in 3 months. It’s been about a month and a half and I have always had the strong belief she would win the title off Liv Morgan when she returns. So how is that going to go down? Let’s not forget we are in Saudi, and they like the name brand products. If Rhea is to win the title back around SummerSlam, I see Becky retaining this Saturday and Liv winning the championship at Money in the Bank.

Sami Zayn will be defending his WWE Intercontinental Championship in a triple threat against Chad Gable and Bronson Reed. Sami will have his hands full, not only in the triple threat but also considering TV booking lately. Bronson Reed has been standing tall at the end of brawls, while it appears Chad Gable may actually be getting Otis to turn heel with him. I think we can rule out Bronson Reed, who has failed to get over with the WWE crowd and has failed to have a good run of wins. This leaves me pondering Saudi probably cheering for Sami Zayn versus Chad Gable’s new heel run, and the added storyline of Otis teetering on a heel turn. It’s a tough call, but Chad Gable stripping Sami in Saudi Arabia with a fully turned heel in Otis, would bring huge heat and push for Chad Gable, who has been deserving of a championship for some time now. In my least confident pick of the evening, let’s go with Chad Gable.

Moving on the strangest booking of the whole event, Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Logan Paul (who will not have his WWE United States Championship on the line). Why not give your champions their own storylines? Why not have both belts on the line? What has the celebrity champion done for a main title shot? Logan Paul will hit his highly rehearsed high spots, have tons of help from friends, but the ultimate babyface Cody Rhodes will overcome all odds and retain his championship.
.@LoganPaul brought his own contract? 👀
