AEW Dynamite would open with Jon Moxley entering the ring, only to be ambushed by Kyle Fletcher and Jeff Cobb. Bryan Danielson would come to his aid, leading to a brutal brawl before the tag team match began. Blackpool Combat Club would regain control and target Jeff Cobb early on. The match featured high energy, stiff striking, and a fast pace. Jon Moxley would secure the pinfall victory over Kyle Fletcher. Takeshita would then appear, leading to a 3-on-2 beatdown until Claudio Castagnoli intervened with a crowbar, ending the segment.

Adam Copeland would be introduced but was immediately attacked by House of Black. They dragged him to the ring where Murphy, King, and Black assaulted him. Black demanded Buddy Murphy take Copeland’s wedding ring. Kyle O’Reilly would attempt to rescue Copeland but stood no chance and got laid out quickly. House of Black would hit Adam Copeland with a vicious three chair tandem move in the corner before leaving the two men lifeless. Why did he take his wedding ring?

Matt Sydal and Christopher Daniels teamed up against The Young Bucks as part of the Tag Team Eliminator tournament, resulting in a predetermined outcome. Despite their loss, they had some memorable moments in the match.

Hook has a 45 second squash match before calling out Chris Jericho. He would challenge him for the FTW Championship that Jericho recently beat him for. Jericho would say he would have to win a qualification match this Saturday. Hook would say it sounds good before attacking Jericho. Jericho, of course, had new faction mate Big Bill with him, so this didn’t end well for Hook. Shibata would come down to even the numbers and end this segment.

Swerve Strickland would face off against Brian Cage. If Cage would win, he would get a title shot at Swerve’s AEW Championship. No tie-up to start this one, a straight brawl from the jump. Great striking and reversals early. Cage would have control for a good chunk mid match, showing off his power moveset. Swerve would come back, hitting a huge double rope assisted stomp to the outside before a splash, leading to a near finish. Cage had more in the tank, coming back again, this time with repeated powerbombs. He would go to the powerbomb well one too many times, leading to the ultimate House Call finisher that got Swerve the victory in a great match. Swerve would beat Cage after the match with a steel chair (Mogul Embassy betrayed Swerve last week). Christian Cage would come out to the entrance ramp, distracting Strickland long enough for Nick Wayne to hit him with a lowblow from behind. They would then smash a photo of Swerve and his family over his head, cutting Swerve. Christian Cage would take the family photo and cover it in the blood coming from Swerve’s head. He stated he has his blood, and his title is next. The two will face off at Double or Nothing.

Toni Storm would take on Harley Cameron in the next match. Cameron would get some work in but Toni Storm would of course win the match.

The next segment was a contract signing between Mercedes Mone and Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship. The promos back and forth were pretty mediocre, ultimately ending in the standard contract signing brawl. Nightgale would get the better of the exchange, putting Mone through the table.

Kazuchika Okada would defend his AEW Continental Championship against Dax Harwood in the main event. Okada would lay a beat down on Dax early, including a near count out. Both men would look strong, with the closest of near falls going both ways. Both men would be exhausted, but it would be Okada retaining his championship. After the bell, The Elite would jump FTR and be outnumbered due to the recent injury to Eddie Kingston. People have been wondering who would replace him in their upcoming match. Need wait no more, Darby Allin would return to a huge pop.
