AEW Dynamite’s first match this week featured Trent Baretta and Orange Cassidy. To catch you up on the storyline, Trent has turned against the Best Friends in a heel turn. This match didn’t even have a tie up to start, it was a brawl from the word go. It spilled into the audience early on, with a lot of lenience from the referee. Trent would expose the turnbuckle but as quick as he did that, Orange Cassidy was able to reverse his attempt and roll him up for the victory. Also of note, Don Callis came to commentary and appears to be scouting/recruiting Orange Cassidy. Trent Baretta would jump Cassidy after the match, using the steel steps and the ring as a weapon.
Just because the bell rang does NOT mean that this is over between Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta!

The next segment was a promo between Serena Deeb and Toni Storm in the hype of their upcoming title match. It was rather long and generic, with Serena Deeb being booked to look strong.

The next match was Mariah May versus Harley Cameron. This was a pretty bad match, very slow and difficult to watch. Mariah May would win via pinfall.

Swerve Strickland would come to the ring in the next segment with a microphone. He would discuss Christian Cage and how he was attacked by him last week. Swerve would call Cage to the ring. Cage would bring his Patriarchy to the ring, but Swerve had the Mogul Embassy with his back. It appeared not much was going to happen, that is until Mogul Embassy blindsided Swerve and delivered a vicious beatdown. Cristian would order them to finish it off, so it would appear they are all in on it together. Swerve would get thrown through the announce table to finish the segment.

“Switchblade” Jay White would be taking on Rocky Romero in the next match. The match was pretty good, good pace and high spots. Both men also executed smooth reversals. Jay White would hit Bladerunner to secure the victory. After the match, Pac would come to the aid of Rocky Romero, who was getting beaten after the bell by all 3 of the Bang Bang Gang.

The main event of Dynamite this week was a No Disqualification Match for the TNT Championship, as Adam Copeland defended against Brody King. It was only moments before Adam Copeland had numerous chairs in play. Shortly after that, Brody King would have a good cut on his head, crimson all down his face. Brody would take most of the big blows in the match, really putting on a show for Adam Copeland. The end of the match featured a Death Valley Driver onto the apron, followed by a spear through a table on the floor from the apron. Brody King would attack Copeland after the loss, but as promised, Kyle O’riley had the back of Copeland.

AEW still had another segment after the main event. We would find out the complete teams for Anarchy in the Arena to take on The Elite. FTR would recruit Eddie Kingston and Bryan Danielson. Dynamite would end with all 8 men being seperated by security.
