Sophie Shaw, the reigning Big South Offensive Player of the Week, scored a season high five goals to lead Furman and finished with six points after dishing out an assist. Anna Roser contributed four points on two goals and two assists, and Casey Richbourg totaled three points with two goals and an assist. Sophia Buzelis recorded four draws to go with three ground balls, two caused turnovers, and one goal. Hannah Dintino won a team best five draws. In goal, Sailor Henderson and Lily Rathbun combined for seven saves.

James Madison enters the week ranked second nationally in the IL Women/IWLCA Division I Poll with an undefeated 5-0 record. The Dukes have Top-25 wins this season over North Carolina (No. 3) and Connecticut (No. 24). James Madison is under the direction of 18th-year head coach Shelley Klaes.

Furman takes the lead by #20 Anna Roser getting a shot on goal assisted by #15. James Madison comes back with two quick goals and its 2-1 Dukes over the Paladins with 8:45 left in the period. The Dukes get two more goals and its now 4-1 over Furman. Furman is able to get a goal on them by #17 Paige Harman and its 4-2 with 51 seconds left in the period.

We start the second period with James Madison winning the start, they go down and score when #17 slings it in and its 5-2 James Madison. Then just as quick, they when the draw and quickly score again and its now 6-2 Dukes over the Paladins. The Dukes score again and Furman takes a timeout as it is 7-2 James Madison over Furman with still 13:22 left in the second period. The Dukes once again score a goal and it is now 8-2 over the Paladins, Furman is letting this get out of hand, but still have time to climb back in this game before the half. Furman gets a score #7 Hannah Dintino gets it past the goalie and its 8-3 Paladins still behind but trying to make a comeback.

Furman looking to hold the Duke’s team at bay, while getting more shots on goal and climb back in before the half. James Madison gets another goal by #20 and Furman is behind yet again by 6 goals 9-3 with 10 minutes left in the half. Furman is able to get a goal when #18 Mia Falco gets the score.

Furman gets a yellow card which takes away a goal with 30 seconds left in the half. We go into halftime with Furman down 10-4 and needing to regroup to get back in this game.

James Madison was able to get a penalty shot to start the second half and gets the goal and its now 11-4 in front of the Lady Paladins. The Duke’s #21 gets a score and its now 12-4 with 11:27 left in the 3rd period. The Furman goalie has been busy today with shots from the James Madison ladies who have been taking turns firing away at her. Furman gets a shot on goal and #15 Sophie Shaw gets a goal and it is 12-5 with an assist from #17. James Madison #17 gets yet another score making 3 goals for the game, and it is now 13-5 James Madison over Furman. yet another goal for James Madison and it is starting to be very bad afternoon for Furman lacrosse down 14-5. Furman gets a goal as #17 Paige Harman gets a goal to bring Furman within 8 as they are down 14-6 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd period.

James Madison takes it down and gets a goal from #13 and the score is 15-6 and a timeout from Furman. Furman #26 Audrey Smith gets a goal, and it is now 15-7 and the Furman faithful are cheering pretty loud. We end the 3rd period with Furman 7 and James Madison 15.

James Madison #17 has yet another score as she has had the Furman defense on its backside most of the game. Furman answers with #7 Hannah Dintino scoring a goa and it is 16-8. The Duke’s #17 scores yet another goal and the Paladins are down 17-8 with 12 minutes to go in the half. Furman Paladin #20 Anna Roser scores another goal and its 17-9 Furman climbing back into the game. James Madison scores again and #18 from #36 gets the Duke’s are up 18-9 with 7:26 left in the game. Goal by James Madison and it is 19-9 and a goalie change by Furman. James Madison gets another goal by #7 and the score is now 20-9. The game is now with two minutes left and James Madison scores another goal making it 21-9.
