The opening contest this week was Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli taking on FTR in tag-team action. This match was another good one in the ongoing rivalry between FTR and Blackpool Combat Club, so good in fact, they battled all the way to a time limit draw. The crowd immediately expressed their displeasure in the ending of the match, booing with force. They then started screaming for time to get added to the match. This did not happen and the two teams battled each other again. Security had to seperate them heading into commercial break. After the break, they announced their match for the upcoming Revolution PPV. We will have to wait and see who wins this rivalry, but it’s sure to be a great match.
BEAUTIFUL VIOLENCE! #BCC’s @JonMoxley & @ClaudioCSRO face former #AEW World Tag champs, #FTR @DaxFTR @CashWheelerFTR! | 2/21/24, #AEWDynamite

Next up, Orange Cassidy took on Mike Bennett of Undisputed Kingdom. This match was more about what happened at the finish. Orange Cassidy beats Mike Bennett clean, only to have Undisputed Kingdom jump him after the match. This led to a surprise, in the form of a helping hand from Jake Hagar. It’s unclear at this time what is expected in AEW for the future of Jake Hagar, but it was nice to see him in the ring.
Unexpected reinforcements help even the odds against The Undisputed Kingdom!

During a backstage segment we saw Ric Flair knocking on the locker room door belonging to The Young Bucks. They seem to be teasing some sort of involvement heading towards Sting’s final match. Very curious to see where this goes.
BREAKING
Sources are saying, Ric Flair was spotted coming out of the creative meeting in Nicholas & Matthew Jackson’s office with a big grin on his face. But whatever was discussed in that room remains tight-lipped. pic.twitter.com/wYvtouTwAw

Next up we had Daniel Garcia in the ring cutting a promo when he was interrupted by his opponent at Revolution, the head of the Patriarchy, Christian Cage. He cut another great heel promo on Daniel Garcia, leaning into the gimmick, calling out his Father (who passed away). Who will come out on top as the TNT Champion?
The mind games begin from #TNT Champion Christian Cage.

Of note, Deonna Parazzo tapped out Madison Rayne in an attempt to put her over, on her way to her title opportunity at Revolution. This was quickly spoiled, as AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm attacked her after the match. We will see who wins the title one week from Sunday.
Madison Rayne knows what Deonna Purrazzo is capable of!

Rob Van Dam teamed up with Hook and “Hangman” Adam Page in the next match, to take on Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Brian Cage. All men were able to have good spots without it seeming crowded. Excellent reversals and moveset by all. It really heated up near the end, especially between the three men in the AEW Championship match at the upcoming Revolution PPV (Swerve, Joe, and Hangman). The match ends with Samoa Joe choking out RVD for the finish. It’s sure to be a great upcoming championship match.
The Trio of Brian Cage, Swerve Strickland and Samoa Joe seem to be getting along just fine!
