The Greenville Drive (41-35) took a tough loss in Game 1 from Tuesday’s July 4th suspended game 8-5 where the Rome Braves (35-41) came back from a 5-1 deficit to win the game.

The Rome Braves waste no time in getting the runs started with a two-run blast over the Monster in left field making the score 2-0. The Drive was able to get out of the inning without more damage to the score board. The Drive in the bottom of the second put on a hitting clinic and with no outs get a run and have a runner on second and first. The Drive then get a huge hit and bring in a run and its now tied 2-2 in the bottom of the second and we have a ballgame folks as the fans are getting a great show.
The Braves are able to get a run in the top of the 3rd and it is now 3-2 as they look to extend the lead. The braves then get 3 more runs with two outs and its now 6-2 Braves as they start to pull away in this inning that the Drive just wished they could get out of. The Rome Braves in the top of the 4th of this 7 inning game due to a double header, get yet another run to make it 7-2 as the weather is starting to roll in to the stadium.

In the bottom of the 4th the Drive finally show some life and get a run off a double by Diaz making the score 7-3. The score stays that way as we head into the top of the seventh the final inning 7-3. Still a huge turn out and hoping for a rally in this inning.
