Sunday April 16th at St Xavier High School football stadium the inaugural Prep Red Zone KY was held. About 70 kids from 2023-2026 classes attended the first event on a cold, windy, and rainy day. The day began with rain showers and a gusty cold wind, luckily as the event was scheduled to begin the rain stopped but the howling wind did remain for the event. Myself (@BradCSCast on Twitter) and Jon Hammons (@jonspor11) Covered the event for Greenville Sports Media, DaFanBoys, and College Sportscast.
The day began with instruction and warmups and quickly moved to drills like the L- Drill, Pro-agility, 40-yard dash, and the broad jump. I will be posting videos of these drills on College SportsCast RnD on Instagram, my twitter page and DaFanBoys YouTube. The event then shifted to position groups drills as each position group received instruction from camp college coaches. The camp then concluded with One on One competition drills. 2013 Kentucky Mr. Football Nacarius Fant-Bowling Green Purples WR assistant coach was also on board as a instructor for the WR group. I really enjoyed the guidance and specific position group instructions that these kids were getting throughout the camp. A well run and guided camp for future KY recruits looking to better themselves and get more known on the recruiting trail.

Wick Dotson 2024 DB from Bowling Green High had a good day displaying great hands and ability to keep tight coverage. Kory Combs 2025 LB from Breathitt County was hardnosed and very active in One-on-One drills. Baylor Murphy 2026 QB from Boyle County had an impressive day throwing despite very windy conditions. Peyton Smith 2025 RB Taylor County was very shifty and elusive all day long in his drills and One on One. Aidan Burke 2026 WR Belfry and Riley Hatfield 2025 WR Larue County both had good days during the camp as well. Two guys I want to make sure I mention that I was impressed with the way they could stick their feet in the ground and make violent cuts in routes were Chapman Russell 2026 WR Christian Academy of Louisville and Cross Watson 2026 WR Taylor County. They both had impressive days route running and catching on a cold day. Two future wideouts to keep your eye on in Kentucky.
