The Demon Deacons (12-9, 2-7 ACC) tallied 15 total assists on the night on 22 made baskets (68.2 percent). Freshman forward Opal Bird led the Deacs with six assists in the game while finishing an efficient 3-of-4 from the field with seven points for the game. On the offensive end of the floor, Wake Forest was led by a pair of 13-point performances from freshman Milan Brown and sophomore Grace Oliver. Oliver nearly completed her second-straight double double, posting a team-high eight rebounds.

Coming into the game, Oliver led the conference and ranked 10th nationally with a 60.7 field goal percentage. She had another efficient night, going 6-of-11 from the floor including 1-of-2 from behind the arc. This marked Brown’s seventh double figure game of the season, and she added three assists and three rebounds to her team-high in points.

The Deacs controlled the paint against Virginia Tech (16-5, 6-3 ACC), winning the points in the paint battle, 34-28. Across 21 games, the Deacs have totaled 664 points in the paint (31.6 per game).
