The Demon Deacons (12-8, 2-6 ACC) were dominant from downtown, with its best three-point percentage performance of the season, going 10-of-20. Sørbye dominated from three, with 12 of her career-best 16 points coming from beyond the arc. Over the last seven games, the Demon Deacons have four double-digit three-point performances coming against Gardner-Webb, Pitt, NC State and Clemson (13-6, 4-3 ACC). During that stretch, Wake Forest is averaging 8.14 threes made per game and the 57 threes made have accounted for 43.5 percent of the threes made for the entire season. Additionally, the Deacs are shooting at a high clip during that seven-game stretch, knocking down 57-of-127 3FG (44.9 pct.)

Oliver recorded her first double-double and second of her career of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds. The forward’s first of her career came against the Houston Cougars on Feb. 15, 2025, where she totaled 16 points and 14 rebounds. The Demon Deacons had another excellent game in the paint, with 36 points posted inside, while allowing The Tigers to score just 24, a 12-point deficit. Across 20 games, the Deacs have totaled 630 points in the paint (31.5 per game).

From Gebbia,
“This is a tough one to swallow. We played 36 good minutes of basketball, but we didn’t execute down the stretch to close this one out. We had some defensive mental mistakes in overtime that cost us. In regulation, we need to find a way to score the basketball, and we can’t have a stretch of five minutes without scoring. That includes making our shots at the free throw line and turning the ball over in key situations. We need to understand that we have to play 40 minutes and this is a hard learning lesson. This one will sit with us for a bit because of how close we were to getting a tough road win. Now we have to get back and hopefully this is the point we look back on as the turning point of the season. The bye comes at the right time to get these things fixed.” – Megan Gebbia
