Dickens Shatters NCAA Record, Catamount Football Wins

By Coach Steve
Taron Dickens just put on one of the greatest single-game performances in NCAA history. On the road against the Wofford Terriers, Taron Dickens opened the game going 46/46 passing, with 325 yards and 3 TDs, shattering the previous record of 29 passes without an incompletion. Not only did Dickens break the single-game record previously held by Quinn Epperly of Princeton, but he led the Catamount football on a game-winning drive that setup kicker Marcus Trout for the go-ahead field goal from 34 yards out. This gave the Catamounts a 23-21 comeback win over the Terriers. Dickens final stat line was 53/56 for 378 yards and 3 TDs, along with another 44 yards on the ground. But that won’t be the story of the day. The real story?
The secret is out now. The entire country now knows who Taron Dickens is, as his performance garnered a great deal off attention from the national media. On the ESPN studio show College Football Final, Taron Dickens was awarded “the most coveted individual award in sports” by show host Matt Barrie. The spotlight is now shining bright on Catamount football in Cullowhee. How will they answer? What will Taron Dickens do for an encore? The Catamounts will host the Furman Paladins at Whitmer Stadium on Saturday at 2:30pm EST on ESPN+. As for the encore from Dickens, I can only assume the second verse will be the same as the first: dominance. Greenville Sports Media will be on site in Cullowhee, so fire up the grill and lets have a good time, I am looking forward to meeting the Catamount faithful.
