SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Wofford College just got a boost for its football team with the commitment of wide receiver Anjuan Coleman Jr., a quick and versatile player from Miami Central High School in Florida. Coleman, who’s joining the 2025 recruiting class, stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 175 pounds, and he’s known for his speed, smart play, and ability to make things happen on the field.

Recruitment Journey

Even though schools like Oregon, Arkansas, and Louisville showed interest, Coleman picked Wofford because it felt like the right fit both on and off the field.

“Wofford felt like the right place for me to grow—not just as a football player but as a person,” Coleman said. “The coaches believed in me and the system they’re building. I’m excited to get to work and help the team win.”

High School Highlights

At Miami Central, Coleman was a consistent contributor. In his senior year, he caught 27 passes for 334 yards and four touchdowns, plus two rushing touchdowns. His junior season was strong, too, with 21 catches for 268 yards and five touchdowns, along with 142 rushing yards and two scores on the ground.

He also helped Miami Central win two state championships, showing he knows how to perform when it counts.

“Anjuan was a key player for us,” said one of his high school coaches. “He’s explosive, has great hands, and always looks for ways to make a big play.”

Versatility and Work Ethic

One thing that stands out about Coleman is how versatile he is. He’s played wide receiver, running back, and even returned kicks in high school. That kind of flexibility gives Wofford a lot of options offensively.

“Our coaches are really excited about Anjuan because he can do a lot of things,” Wofford’s head coach said. “We can line him up in different spots, and he’s smart enough to learn the plays and make quick decisions.”

Coleman is also known for being a hard worker. He studies film, listens well, and always wants to improve.

“He’s one of those guys who’s always working to get better,” the coach added. “That kind of attitude will help him at the college level.”

Why Wofford?

Even though bigger schools were interested, Coleman said Wofford stood out because of its strong academics and the chance to play early.

“I wanted a place where I could contribute right away,” Coleman said. “Wofford offers that, and the coaches have built a great culture.”

Looking Ahead

Wofford has been on the rise in recent years, and adding a player like Coleman gives the team even more promise for the future.

As Coleman prepares to move from high school to college football, expectations are that he’ll quickly find his spot in the offense. His speed and ability to make plays in open space could make him a weapon right away.

Terriers fans will be watching closely to see what Coleman brings this coming season, and he’s excited to get started.
