Zebulon, NC- On Wednesday, the Carolina Mudcats finalized their preparation for their final season with their annual Media Day. The 2025 season will be the Mudcats final season in Zebulon before moving to Wilson to become the Wilson Warbirds. The Mudcats gave the local media a chance to meet with manager Nick Stanley and the Mudcats players. Manager Nick Stanley is returning for his second season as the manager of the Carolina Mudcats. During this time, we got a chance to speak with manager Nick Stanley, Mudcats outfielder Braylon Payne and Mudcats infielder Eric Bitonti. Payne recently checked in at no. 11 on a list of the top 30 prospects in the Brewers organization according to MLB pipeline. Bitonti checked in as the no. 8 prospect on the same MLB pipeline list.
The Mudcats look to improve on the 2024 season that saw them win the first half to earn their second consecutive playoff appearance. The Mudcats ended their 2024 season being swept in the Division Round by Fredericksburg 2 games to 0 in a series that featured several close games. The Mudcats return several key players from last year, including Eric Bitonti and Braylon Payne, who was the 17th pick in the 2024 draft. The 2024 Mudcats will feature 5 of the top 30 prospects in the Brewers organization on the Opening Day roster. The team will look to improve on their 2024 results by utilizing their talent which was a common theme of Media Day. Below is the full Opening Day roster of the 2025 season.
The Mudcats begin with a home weekend series against the Fredericksburg Nationals who are the Low-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. This series will last from Friday, April 4th until Sunday, April 6th at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, North Carolina.
