
Wofford vs UNCG
The Southern Conference opened up its NCAA tournament play with the women, and it brought the energy they so wanted. The Day opened up with UNC Greensboro facing off with Western Carolina, a game which WCU gave the Spartans all they could handle yet won 50-43 which would start the day off right.
Next up was UT Chattanooga facing off with the Mercer Bears, UT would take the lead and never look back, even with Mercer pulling in close several time. UT Chatt a team everyone felt would not have a great year due to changes came out and showed why they have a shot in winning the tournament.
Game 3 would have the upset of the day, as the #6 seed Furman Paladins would live to fight another day getting a 64-58 win over the tough playing ETSU squad. Tate Walters and Jada Session would help put the Paladins in the semis with help from the bench who outscored ETSU by 18 points. ETSU head coach praised her team and said the SoCon will see ETSU get better next year.
