The Furman Paladins Women’s Basketball Team (12-9, 2-3 SoCon) got a much-needed victory 57-47 on the road versus the Mercer Bears (6-14, 1-4 SoCon) in a double header of the two teams. The Paladins was led by Tate Walters with 14 points on 6/14 shooting, Jada Session & Clare Coyle had 13 and 11 points to help the cause, while having 9 rebounds apiece.

The Paladins Sessions had 11 of her 13 points coming in the second half of play. Walters in the first half, scored all 14 of her points to give the Paladins a 26-23 lead at halftime. Mercer was led by Ariana Bennett who had 21 points, having got 14 of her points in the third quarter of play.

Furman finished with a 40.7% shooting percent (22-of-54) overall with 38 rebounds compared to 35 by Mercer. Mercer finished with a dismal 2-11 from 3-point range (18%). The Paladins will now return home for a three-game stand starting with ETSU on Thursday the 30th at 7pm at Hayes Gym on the Campus of North Greenville University.
