Alumni Day in Templeton Physical Education Center with the Lady Blue Hose looking to get back into the win column against Radford. The game started out with some very strong defense. Both teams were looking to establish themselves. Paige Kindseth was able to put PC up 4-3 with 5:57 left in the first quarter. Both teams would continue to play physical basketball while trying to establish dominance. We would go into the first media timeout with PC up 7-5 off of a Kishya Anderson mid-range jump shot. The media timeout would come at a good time for Radofrd as after the timeout they would go on a 9-0 run off a couple fast break lay ups and free throws to take a 14-7 lead into the 2nd quarter.

The 2nd quarter would start with Radford scoring another bucket. Coach Sardin decided that she had seen enough as she would call a 30 second timeout. After the timeout PC would come out with a bit of energy and began moving the ball around and that would lead to a mid range jump shot by Kishya Anderson which would cut the lead to 16-9. However, after trading a couple turnovers Radford would then score on an and 1 bucket and bring the lead to 21-9 in favor of Radford. PC would then then begin to put together a run of their own as they would begin to establish their presence inside with Paige Kindseth and Aminata Tal sparking a 7-0 run and would bring PC to within 8. Sonia Sato would then add another bucket and Radford would then call a timeout as PC was only down 23-17. Sonia Sato would continue to establish her presence inside and would come away with another basket as she would not be denied and PC would send us to halftime with PC only down 24-19. Halftime stats were PC would would shoot 37.5% from the field while Radford would shooot 27.3% Leading scores were Paig Kindseth with 6 and Kishyah Anderson with 5 points.

The Blue Hose would open the 2nd half with the ball. They would come out trying to feed off of the way they closed out the first half. Kishya Anderson would open up the scoring with a brilliant turnaround jump shot to cut the lead to 24-21.The hustle of PC would continue as Daniella Velez would go diving for the loose ball and draw the foul on the other end. PC seemed to find their stride. After a few fouls on Radford Sonia Sato would then follow up with a nice play inside to then cut the lead to 24-23. This crowd was ready to erupt! However, Radford’s physicality would pick up as they would begin to drive to the lane and draw back to back fouls. They would make their free throws to open up the lead to 32-25. Radford would then pick up the pace as they would start to push the ball up the court which would set them up with some easy lay ups and we would go into the media timeout with Radford opening the lead back up to 43-30 with a little over a minute left in the 3rd. After the media timeout PC would try to pick up the pace well but Radford would close out the 3rd quarter with a 46-32 lead.

We would open up the 4th quarter with Radford continuing their hot streak with back to back buckets to open up their biggest tlead of the game to 50-32.We would come out of the media timeout with the blue hose getting a quick basket by Sato which would cut the lead to 51-36. PC definitely was not going to go away quietly. The speed of Radford would contine to be tough for PC to handle in the 4th and Radford would continue to capitalize on that by driving to the basket and scoring on high percentage shots and Radford would break the lead back open to 56-36. With 4 minutes left to play Radford would just begin to slow things down to milk the clock. Kishyah Anderson would then come out and say “not in my house” as she would get the hot hand and PC would close the lead to 58-43 on back to back buckets and a free throw by Tal. PC would then pick up the pressure by trying to force a turnover with a full court press. The defense would begin to be tough for Radford to handle and Shelby Fiddler would put a 3 pointer off of the Radford turnover to cut the lead to 58-47 with just over a minute left. PC would was using their stiff defense to create big oppportunities. After cutting the lead to 60-50 after a 3 poitner by Tal PC would then begin to foul to try to extend the game. Radford would make their free throws down the stretch to hold off PC and win.

It was a valiant effort in the closing minutes of the 4th quarter. However, Radford would leave with a 62-50 win. @JDWyatt06 @MarkLiving40700 @BlueHoseWBB @DafanboysC

PC will wrap up a their homestead with Winthrop on Wednesday. Winthrop is number 3 in the conference but the Blue Hose are aiming for an upset in front of their home crowd.
