Another SEC game, another tough loss for the South Carolina Gamecocks. This one is a bit of a heartbreaker, especially considering Florida led only five seconds during the game. However, it was of course the only five seconds that mattered and results in South Carolina’s 7th straight SEC loss. At this point, they cannot seem to hold a halftime lead nor complete a comeback.
Despite their struggles, the one bright spot of the team has been Collin Murray-Boyles without question. Collin is averaging over fifteen points per game, and basically nine rebounds at 8.9. He seems to have played his way into a lottery pick at this point. I absolutely loved the message he had to share with his team last night and earns tons of brownie points in my book.
Regardless of the results, this team seems to have a ton of fight and hopefully a very bright future going forward. There are some injuries and a lack of playmakers at the guard position currently. It usually takes three years to build a roster and culture and I am perfectly comfortable with Lamont Paris and the direction of the program. Weather the storm Gamecock fans amidst the heartbreaking loss. All will be well soon enough. Check out Lamont’s thoughts after the game.
