Week 10 of NFL Monday Night Football features the Miami Dolphins travelling to Los Angeles to take on the Rams. The Rams are on a resurgurance for the playoffs, while the Dolphins try to hold on to hope, not being mathematically eliminated.
The Rams have looked better as of late, and look to improve on their 4-4 record. They enter this one on a 3-game win streak, the team sparked by the return of big stars like Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. The offense has been scoring more points lately, averaging over 25 points a game in the last 3. The defence has also seemed to be sparked, allowing just over 18 points per game in the last 3, 6 less than the season average. The Rams average 5.8 more points per game this season than the Dolphins, and appear to be in the driver’s seat for a playoff push.
The Miami Dolphins come in on a 3 game losing streak, even with the return of Tua Tagovailoa. They have lost all three games by one possession, including a 1-point and a 3-point loss. The offense has lacked enough to get them over the hump, while the defense has been good, but not elite, ranking 19th on the season in scoring defence. That is not good enough to compensate for the 20th overall rank offense and 27th in Red Zone TD rate. It’s hard to picture them in the playoffs at this point, but this game would be a good place to start.
According to Bodog at the time of writing this article, the Rams are -2.5 point favorites at home. If the Ram’s defence can continue to be what they have been lately, the Dolphins will likely be in tough to cover that spread. The Dolphins will hope to attack the resurging defence, which certainly is not elite either. It’s not impossible, but the Dolphins look to be in tough Monday night.
