The Furman Paladins (1-0) are off to Nashville to face the Belmont Bruins (1-0) team that has yet another former Furman Paladin player in Connor Whitt. This game won’t look the same on the Paladin sideline either as Head Coach Bob Richey is staying at home as he and his wonderful wife have brought in a new baby to the world, congrats to them both and wishing them a blessed time.

We now having our starting five for tonight and we are set to go with the Paladins versus the Bruins. The Paladins will get off to a fast start thanks to the efforts of Senior Garrett Hien who just nails a 3 pointer. Hein is in rare form and now helped his team get out to a 10-point lead. The Paladins are really setting the tone versus the Bruins, as we head to halftime with the Paladins with a 42-34 lead. Halftime stats are PJay Smith 14 points and Hein with 11 points to lead the Paladins.

The second half opens up almost like the first half ended with Furman in command of this game. Belmont starts its comeback staying with the Paladins as Pebbles has 21 points at the first media timeout and has them within a basket at 55-52. The game would be close with Belmont even taking the lead with just under two minutes left, but Furman is able in the final minute to get the win 76-74.
