The Southern Conference gave out its Player of the Week honors on Tuesday in several sports and the following student athletes was given the extreme honor:
Women’s Soccer

Defensive Player of the Week – Abbie Wise R-Jr, Defender Western Carolina

Offensive Player of the Week – Skyler Bumpers Sr, MB Mercer
Defensive Player of the Week – Abby Thomas Sr, MB ETSU
Setters Player of the Week – Brooke Phillips Gr, Mercer
Football
Offensive Player of the Week – Dwayne McGee Sr, RB Mercer
Defensive Player of the Week – Brayden Manley So, DL Mercer
Special Teams Player of the Week – James Platte Gr, P The Citadel

Congratulations to all the above players, and their teams this past week. The Southern Conference and its schools are known for its top tier student athletes, and this year is no exception. We at Greenville Sports Media will be giving an award this year for the Southern Conference player of the year in all sports to be awarded at the end of the 2024-25 season.
