Boston College took a 10-7 lead early – a time burning drive in the second quarter seemed to give the Eagles control – but SMU managed one great drive in response with a six-yard J Knighton touchdown catch for a 14-10 halftime advantage. That would be all the Mustangs could do in the game.

There was a missed field goal, a few fourth down misses, and no chance at all. Boston College managed two good fourth quarter drives ending in Thomas Castellanos touchdown runs from 15 and 14 yards out for 13 unanswered points and the win.

– SMU didn’t threaten to do much in the second half, they had five possessions and didn’t do anything with them. Boston College was smart with the ball, and they kept the chains moving and the defense took over.
