Now, the NFL season gets interesting.
With the season entering week 10, we begin to shift our focus onto the playoff hunt. While no team is mathematically eliminated yet, we have a pretty good idea of who the contenders are. The next two months will be crucial for playoff teams to emerge. We’ll also likely see one or two teams flame out and miss the playoffs, as we do every season. The NFL is predictable- but which teams play which part? Therein lies the yearly intrigue we all tune in for.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (Prev. 1)
The Eagles reinforced their claim on the #1 ranking with a bigtime win over Dallas on Sunday. Philadelphia will be a tough team to beat down the stretch.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (Prev. 2)
The Chiefs handled the Dolphins in Frankfurt early Sunday morning. Kansas City continues to be one of the more consistent winners of this decade.
3. Baltimore Ravens (Prev. 6)
The Ravens embarrassed another good team on Sunday, smashing the Seahawks into the turf. They could be a darkhorse for the Super Bowl
4. Dallas Cowboys (Prev. 4)
While the Cowboys were on the losing side of Sunday’s contest, with about one more yard from Ceedee Lamb at the end of the game Dallas would have a signature win. The Cowboys are very solid- but can they show up and win in big games?
5. Cincinnati Bengals (Prev. 5)
Joe Burrow and the Bengals are back clicking like they never left. The AFC North is absolutely loaded this season.
6. San Francisco 49ers (Prev. 7)
Coming off a bye.
7. Miami Dolphins (Prev. 3)
The Dolphins lost to the Chiefs in Germany, raising even more questions about their ability to beat good teams. In total, all of Miami’s wins this season have come against teams at or below .500.
8. Jacksonville Jaguars (Prev. 8)
Coming off a bye.
9. Buffalo Bills (Prev. 9)
The Bills fell in a close one to the Bengals, and continue to be hit or miss this season. November and December will be absolutely crucial for Buffalo as they try to hit their stride.
10. Detroit Lions (Prev. 10)
Coming off a bye.
11. Los Angeles Chargers (Prev. 12)
The Chargers dominated the Jets on Monday Night and have gotten back to 4-4 after losing 4 of their first 6 games. While the wild card round is the only realistic hope in a division with Kansas City, the Chargers are in the hunt.
12. Cleveland Browns (Prev. 13)
Cleveland destroyed a very bad Cardinals team that was on its 3rd string QB. Not too much to take away from that, but a mark in the win column nonetheless.
13. Seattle Seahawks (Prev. 11)
Seattle was absolutely demolished by the Ravens, falling 37-3. The Seahawks led the division for one week, but they’ll have to play better than they showed Sunday to challenge the 49ers in the division.
14. Pittsburgh Steelers (Prev. 14)
Pittsburgh continues to win despite having one of the worst offenses in the NFL. It’s honestly impressive at this point.
15. New Orleans Saints (Prev. 15)
The Saints won, but their opponent was the Bears and New Orleans only won by 6. New Orleans still feels mediocre at best.
16. Houston Texans (Prev. 17)
This is CJ Stroud’s world and we’re all just living in it.
17. New York Jets (Prev. 16)
Ignoring the score of Monday Night Football, did you see Aaron Rodgers throwing 50 yards??
18. Tennessee Titans (Prev. 18)
Ignoring the score of Thursday Night Football, did you see Will Levis was named the starter going forward?
19. Indianapolis Colts (Prev. 19)
The Colts continue to stay just middle of the pack enough to remain in striking distance for the AFC South.
20. Minnesota Vikings (Prev. 23)
Welcome to the Josh Dobbs Experience™
21. Atlanta Falcons (Prev. 20)
Arthur Smith continues to wage his ware on Fantasy Football players everywhere.
22. Tampa Bay (Prev. 21)
The wheels may be coming off.
23. Denver Broncos (Prev. 25)
Coming off a bye
24. Green Bay Packers (Prev. 30)
They beat the Rams by 17, but the real story here is that Aaron Jones saw 20+ touches. The Packers even scored a touchdown in the first half, for once.
25. Los Angeles Rams (Prev. 22)
Matthew Stafford was out, but a loss to a bad Packers team is unacceptable anyway you spin it.
26. Las Vegas Raiders (Prev. 32)
The Raiders are playing with a new energy now that Josh McDaniels is out of the building.
27. New York Giants (Prev. 26)
Daniel Jones is out for the season with a torn ACL, and the Giants season is likely out the door with him.
28. Washington Commanders (Prev. 27)
They won! Good job, Commanders, enjoy it.
29. New England Patriots (Prev. 24)
This is bad. This is very bad.
30. Arizona Cardinals (Prev. 28)
Kyler Murray back next week, and Caleb Williams on the horizon. #QBCITYBABY
31. Carolina Panthers (Prev. 29)
This is also bad. This is also very bad.
32. Chicago Bears (Prev. 31)
What can I even say?
