Wake Forest’s projected win total from oddsmakers has more to do with its schedule than a lack of competitiveness. The Demon Deacons face one of the ACC’s toughest slates, with difficult road trips to Louisville, NC State, California, SMU and Georgia Tech, plus home games against Miami and Duke. That’s a brutal path for a roster with much to prove. Wake Forest will perform better than expected, it will take surviving that gauntlet with multiple upsets, making a challenging season feel like the most realistic outcome.

Wake brings in a host of transfers, and tough grit players, which last year was able to get 9 wins with everyone predicting them to be dead last. Wake makes a bowl and has yet another winning season under 2nd year Head Coach Jake Dickert, who has brought a passion and fire to the Demon Deacons program. We might be the only ones in the country picking Wake this high, but we feel Wake is starting to turn the corner in the ACC!
