The Greenville Drive (24-22) look to rebound from last night’s loss to Hickory Crawdads (17-25) and will put Dalton Rogers on the mound, as the Crawdads put Dane Acker up against him. Nice crowd has gathered for the game and its on the way. (Game Thread)

The Crawdads strike first on the scoreboard when a wild pitch allows the runner to score, then right after that the next batter gets a blooper between the drive 2nd baseman and right fielder to score another run and its 2-0 with 1 out and a man on. Rogers has looked a bit off on the mound tonight, and the Crawdads have stolen 3 bases already. The Crawdad’s get another run with two outs and the Drive are in real danger of letting this inning get out of hand down 3-0.

The Drive battle back in the bottom of the second and score a run of Ronald Rosardio, and its 3-1 with two outs and runs on first and third. The inning ends with a out, but the Drive now are down 2 heading into the third. The inning ends and the Drive hold the Crawdads in the third and with bases empty Brainer Bonci nails a homerun over the third base green monster to make it 3-2.

The Crawdads in the 5th get another run to make the game 4-2 and the Drive bring in a relief pitcher to shut them down, but the Crawdad on a sac fly get two runs after a mis read on the throw in causes the ball to loop towards the mound and its now 6-2 Crawdads with one out, the Drive finally get the two outs and get out of the inning. The Drive once again battle back and get a run when Bonaci gets a double scoring Max Ferguson and its 6-3 Crawdads with one out. The Drive get another run when Eduardo Lopez hits a single into right field scoring a run making it 6-4, and the Drive are staging a comeback.
The Crawdads get another run in the sixth inning and its now 7-4 Hickory heading into the bottom of the sixth inning.

In the bottom of the eighth inning the Drive battle back with back to back to back hits and now take the lead 8-7 with only one out and a man on third after Paulino hits a triple scoring two RBIs. The Crawdads throw a wild pitch and the Drive get another score and it 9-7 bottom of the 8th inning with a runner on 3rd and two outs. The Drive’s Miguel Ugueto gets a single and knocks in another run and steals second and its 10-7 Drive with a huge 8th inning.

The Drive hold on to get the victory and win 10-7 in a huge comeback in the 8th.
