Sophomore starting pitcher Cameron Bagwell produced a solid outing on the mound as he set new career highs in both strikeouts and pitches thrown. The Pineville, N.C., native recorded 10 punchouts while tossing 107 pitches over the course of 5.2 innings.

Junior first baseman Kade Lewis continued his hot streak as he launched a solo home run to tie the game in the top of the third. Lewis finished the series going 6-for-13 from the plate with four home runs, nine RBIs and four runs scored.

Sophomore right fielder Luke Costello added his team-leading 15th home run of the season as he lasered a solo shot to right field to give the Demon Deacons a 5-4 lead in the fifth inning. Meanwhile, junior left fielder Boston Torres blasted a solo home run to lead off the fourth for his second long ball of the season.

The Demon Deacons have seen the ball leave the yard at a staggering rate over the last eight games, hitting 33 home runs in that span, including 10 over the three games against the Yellow Jackets. Overall, the Deacs have tallied 75 home runs this season.
