GREENVILLE, S.C. – Olivia Graebner and McKenzie Moeller both scored four goals to lead the Wofford Terriers to a 16-12 victory over the Furman women’s lacrosse team, Wednesday evening in Big South Conference action at Paladin Stadium.

Wofford improves to 5-7 overall and 3-0 in the Big South. With the loss, Furman drops to 6-6 on the season and 2-1 in league play.

Reynolds Hester led the Paladins with five points on three assists and two goals while Allie Kandel, Shae Insinga, and Reeve Goldstein all contributed three points. Kandel scored three times, Insinga totaled two goals and an assist, and Goldstein set a new career high with two goals and dished out an assist. Graebner registered a game high six points on four goals and two assists for the Terriers. Moeller compiled five points on four goals and an assist. In goal, Norah Teff came off the bench to earn the win with three saves and one ground ball.

Wofford held Furman without a goal for a stretch of nearly 20 minutes to start the start second. The Terriers used an 8-0 run, holding the Paladins scoreless throughout the third quarter, to build a 13-9 lead with 10:54 remaining in the contest. Furman used a 3-1 run over the next 2:13, highlighted by a pair of goals from Goldstein, to cut Wofford’s lead down to two. Hester netted her second goal of the evening at the 7:21 mark and got the Paladins within 14-12.

The Terriers kept Furman off the scoreboard over the final seven minutes and used goals from Moeller and Ella Bartlett to seal the 16-12 win.

The Paladins opened the game netting four of the initial five goals, including two from Kandel, to take a 4-1 lead less than three minutes into the second quarter. Wofford answered with back-to-back goals before Furman reeled off five of the next seven to lead 9-5 at halftime. Four different Paladins scored during the last 8:38 of the half with Insinga recording two, and Kandel, Hester, and Emily Muir one apiece.

Furman concluded the contest with 30 shots, 14 ground balls, 12 draws, and six caused turnovers.
