AEW Dynamite recap 03.25.26
Kenny Omega Vs. Swerve Strickland
This AEW Dynamite recap opened the show with Kenny Omega versus Swerve Strickland. Omega put his EVP job on the line against Strickland’s number one contendership. This was an entertaining way to open the show. It was a physical back-and-forth, with believable false finishes both ways. The EVP ultimately won the number one contendership.
Jon Moley And Will Ospreay
The next match was a mixed trios match between the Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia, and Marina Shafir) versus Top Flight and Zayda Steele. There was a quick, exhilarating pace, with all six stars getting their moment to shine. Death Riders, with the aid of Wheeler Yuta, pulled out the victory.
Moxley grabbed a microphone after the win. He officially accepted Will Ospreay’s match invitation at Dynasty.
Mike Bailey Vs. Rocky Romero – AEW Dynamite Recap
One-third of the AEW World Trios Champions, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, had a singles match with Rocky Romero. It was odd to see Romero demoted to “already in the ring.” Romero’s loss was imminent.
MJF Vs. Kenny Omega – AEW Dynamite Recap
After defeating “Hangman” Adam Page and ensuring he never challenges for the title again, AEW World Champion MJF cut an in-ring promo on Dynamite. Fresh off getting the number one contender title earlier in the night, Omega joined the champ. The title match is set for Dynasty.
The Conglomeration Vs. The Dogs
Roderick Strong and Orange Cassidy versus The Dogs was next. The pace was elite, and the striking looked vicious. The Dogs pulled out a clean victory.
AEW Women’s Championship – Mina Shirakawa Vs. Thekla
Mina Shirakawa has a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship when she took on Thekla. It was refreshing to see Shirakawa in a serious role, and not just a happy flousey. The match was also more physical than expected. Thekla retained with the help of brass knuckles and a distracted referee.
Rush Vs. Darby Allin
The main event was a no-countout match between Rush and Darby Allin. These men were beating the hell out of each other, and Allin was bleeding early. Rush lost the match, but the Don Callis Family didn’t let Darby enjoy the win. Four of them left the victor lifeless in the ring to end the show.
