The top ranked Clemson Tigers Lacrosse (3-2, 0-1 ACC) visited Boston College (2-3, 2-1 ACC) on Saturday and will return home with a loss in a well fought contest 11-9. The Tigers hoping to start its ACC play with a win started of the first period with a 4-2 lead behind Aubrie Eisfeld (12 goals), Kayla MacLeod (5), and Bridget Babcock. Boston College would get two goals in before the period would end.

The second period the Eagles would fight back and get three goals to cut the lead to 6-5, as Clemson was only able to get two from Emma Penczek (9), and Kayla MacLeod (6) before heading into halftime with urgency to come out and strike fast.

Both teams came out swinging in the first few minutes as Boston College would strike first tying the game at 6-6, before Clemson would score its loan goal of the period when Marleigh O’Day (2) with an assist from Natalie Shurtleff (5) put Clemson back in the lead. Yet Boston College would rattle off 4 straight goals and take command of the game from there.

Boston College in the fourth and final period would score the first goal and hold on to a 11-9 win as Clemson was only able to manufacture 2 more goals in the final minutes by Alexa Spallina (12) and Emma Penczek (10).
