SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Spartanburg Methodist College freshman CJ Terrell collected multiple postseason honors Tuesday as the Appalachian Athletic Conference announced its 2025-26 men’s basketball awards.
An anchor to the defensive efforts for the Pioneers throughout the season, Terrell averaged 12.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while earning selection to both the AAC All-Freshman Team and the AAC All-Defensive Team.
Terrell’s impact was especially evident late in the season, as he was named AAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week twice in February 2026.
In 19 games against conference opponents, Terrell led the team with averages of 11.5 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per contest, establishing himself as one of the league’s top freshmen.
