GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Furman men’s tennis team closed out the regular season Thursday afternoon posting a 4-3 Southern Conference victory over the Wofford Terriers at Mickel Tennis Center.

Furman, who has now won 17 straight over Wofford dating back to 2012, improves to 8-14 overall and 4-3 in the SoCon. The loss drops the Terriers to 6-11 on the season and 1-6 in league play.

For the ninth time in the past 11 matches, the Paladins secured the doubles point after sweeping all three matches. Playing at No. 3, Walker Allen and Theophile Joly got things started with a 6-1 victory against Owen Dooley and Ian Rasheed. The No. 2 tandem of Landon Ecarma and Alex Han clinched the point with their 6-3 triumph over Parker Mariencheck and Hugo Rask. Nicolas Dispas and Nico Snyder closed out doubles at No. 1 with a 7-6(3) win versus Jack Deveney and Valdemar Dubin.

The teams split the six singles matches with Furman picking up wins from Snyder at No. 1, Allen at No. 4, and Han at No. 6. Wofford started things with a victory at No. 3 before the Paladins answered with back-to-back wins from Allen and Snyder. Allen topped Daniel Clivio, 7-6(3), 6-4, and Snyder rallied back for a three-set triumph against Mariencheck, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. The Terriers cut Furman’s lead down to one at No. 2 when Rask defeated Joly in three sets.

Han fought back to win the match for the Paladins with his three-set victory versus Rasheed. The senior from Ormond Beach, Fla., dropped the first set, 5-7, but responded in the second with a 6-2 win. Han trailed 5-1 in the third set before rallying to capture six straight games for a 7-5 victory and taking the match.

Ecarma, playing at No. 5, also sent his match with Jack Burdell into a third set, but would fall 7-5, 4-6, 6-7(9).

Furman travels to Chattanooga, Tenn., next week for the 2026 SoCon Men’s Tennis Championships, which is being held April 16-18 at the Champions Club.
