The SAC Men’s Championship Game in Basketball features the #1 seed Anderson Trojans (26-2, 20-2 SAC) who won the regular season championship facing off with the #3 seed Catawba Indians (21-7, 16-6 SAC) in what will be a high scoring affair if both teams have their way.

The two teams coming out throwing down great shots and Anderson is able to pull ahead 28-24 here at the 7:40 in the first half over Catawba. The game turns to the Indians as they take the lead with 4:31 left in the first half 34-32. The Trojans are now playing from behind, a position they are not used to. This game has the fans on the edge of their seats, as it has a big fight feel.

Catawba showed allot of heart and guts coming back from being down to take the lead late in the first half, but Anderson showed why they have been the team to beat in the SAC with a quick retake of the lead with under two minutes to go. Both teams will once again reset and see where they can improve to be the Champions.

The Trojans come out and hit key shots and at the 15-minute mark hold a 51-48 lead over the Indians as the physicality in the game is picking up as Catawba is wanting the Trojans to see they are not giving up. The 13-minute mark has Catawba retaking the lead 54-51, as the Trojans have made some key turnovers and now the Catawba fans are back in the game. The players on both benches are getting loud, but Catawba has started to pull away, and the Trojans are going to have to play better on the offensive side and create better passes before they are down big in this game.

The Trojans fight back and with two huge steals and several easy baskets we are tied up with 9 minutes to go at 60-60 as everyone is getting excited as the SAC Championship game is giving the fans a great game. We have a media timeout with 7:40 left in the game, and the Trojans lead 62-60 and have the ball coming out after a foul on the Indians. The Trojans are on a 12-0 run as they now lead 70-60 with 5:25 left in the game. Catawba gets back in and is now down only 6 points 70-64 with 4 minutes left.
