SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Three members of the Spartanburg Methodist College women’s basketball team earned honors as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced its postseason awards on Tuesday.
Destiny Middleton was selected to the First Team All-AAC. Heading into this week’s conference tournament, Middleton is averaging 14.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. Against conference opponents, she is averaging 13.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game.
Halle Traylor picked up Second Team All-AAC honors. In her first season as a Pioneer, Traylor is averaging 14.3 points, 3.5 assists, 1.3 steals, and 3.1 rebounds per game. Against conference foes, those numbers remain steady at 14.0 points, 3.3 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2.8 rebounds per game.
The third honoree, Zy Bell, was named to the All-Defensive Team. Against conference teams, Bell is averaging 3.5 steals and 3.2 rebounds per game.
The trio will lead Spartanburg Methodist into the AAC Tournament as the No. 7 seed. They are set to face No. 10 seed Union Commonwealth on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. at the MeadowView Marriott Convention Center & Conference Resort in Kingsport, Tenn.
