The AU Trojans Women’s Basketball (11-15, 7-13 SAC) battle top ranked Lenoir-Rhyne Bears (22-4, 18-2 SAC) at Abney Athletic Center. The Bears are one of the top teams in the SAC and will look to give the Trojans fits with its aggressive defense. The Trojans behind star Ciara Harris will need to shoot well tonight if they plan on upsetting the Bears.

The First half the Bears take control with a defense that has the Trojans making major mental mistakes up and down the court. The Trojans go into halftime down 46-32 in a game closer than it appears. The Trojans will have to make major halftime adjustments if it plans to get back in this game and steal one from the Bears. The Trojans were lead Ashlyn Sheridan leads the Trojans with 11 points, with Ciara Harris and Kyla Cain adding 7 points apiece to keep Anderson in the game.

The Trojans come out in the second half shooting well and causing trouble for the Bears, by the 4:25 mark in the third period they have cut the lead 46-50. Sheridan is having an all-star type of game already at 22 points in the game and playing great defense. The Trojans get within two points but as the 4th period begins, they find themselves down 64-56. The Bears got back to playing control defense and Anderson will need to press fast to not let this game get back to the way it was in the first period.

The Bears would stay strong enough to get the win after a great comeback try by the Trojans who just couldn’t get the shots to stay in the rim tonight and fall 83-75.
