Avenging its loss from a week ago, the No. 4-ranked Wake Forest men’s tennis team battled to a 4-2 victory over No. 6 Baylor Sunday afternoon at the Wake Forest Tennis Center. The Demon Deacons followed that up with another 4-0 win against Coastal Carolina to complete a perfect weekend.

The Deacs (12-2, 0-0 ACC) extended their home winning streak to a stellar 36 matches dating back to April of 2024. Since 2013, Wake Forest leads the nation in home wins with 232 and ranks second during that span in total wins with 368.

The No. 2-ranked pair in the country of senior DK Suresh Ekambaram and redshirt sophomore Andrew Delgado cruised to a 6-4 win over Baylor’s van Schalkwyk/Koenig on court one and moved to 4-0 together this spring. With the win, Suresh is now tied for seventh all-time in program history with 88 total doubles victories and is four away from cracking the top five.

From Coach Bresky
“It’s great to get back home. So much credit goes to the best fans in the country. It was a great atmosphere. Baylor has a very good team, we were coming off of a loss to them at their place last weekend. I think boys were motivated. It was nice to play a couple of high quality out-of-conference matches. It was a long, tough weekend. We’re excited to get ready for the ACC season starting Friday.”” – Head coach Tony Bresky
