The #8 Clemson Tigers (2-1, 0-1 ACC) and the #4 ranked Stanford Cardinals (2-0, 1-0 ACC) faced off at the Clemson Lacrosse complex Saturday with Stanford coming out with a 10-9 victory in front of a sellout crowd.

Clemson in the first quarter was able to jump out to a 3-2 lead behind the scoring by Brooke Goldstein (FIRST GOAL), Assist by Alexa Spallina, goal number 6 for season. The Tigers scored again when Mikaela Mooney, goal number 4 for season, then followed by Emma Penczek, Assist by Alexa Spallina, goal number 6 for season.

The second period the Cardinals was able to bounce back and tie it up before going into halftime at 5-5. Clemson got two goals when Emma Penczek, Assist by Alexa Spallina, goal number 7 for season, lastly by Brooke Goldstein, goal number 7 for season.

Coming out after halftime, the Tigers scored twice to take the lead when Regan Byrne, Assist by Bridget Babcock, goal number 5 for season, followed not long after by Alexa Spallina, Assist by Natalie Shurtleff, goal number 9 for season. Stanford fired back with three goals and lead the tigers going into the final quarter of play.

The Tigers would allow Stanford to score two goals in the start of the last quarter before getting two of their own when Natalie Shurtleff, Assist by Brooke Goldstein, goal number 2 for season, then finally Kayla MacLeod, Assist by Alexa Spallina, goal number 3 for season. The Tigers would go on to lose a close and great game to Stanford 10-9.
