Clare Coyle scored a career high 31 points to lead a parade of five double figure scorers to a 110-36 victory over Mars Hill in women’s basketball action Sunday afternoon at Timmons Arena. The win, the third in the last four outings for Furman, improves the Paladins to 5-6 on the season.
Coyle, a sophomore forward, connected on 12 of 16 shots from the field and went 7 for 8 at the free throw line for her 31 points, which topped her previous high of 22 points recorded in a 90-89 overtime win over Georgia State last month. The Jacksonville, Fla., product also claimed 10 rebounds in just 21 minutes of action for her third consecutive double double.
