Paladins and Bucs Battle

The Furman Paladins Men’s Soccer (7-1-4, 0-0-1 SoCon) take on the ETSU Bucs (1-5-4, 1-0-0 SoCon) at Eugene Stone stadium in a top of the SoCon battle. Both teams are looking to stay at the top of the league and Furman looks to stay in the top 25 in the nation.

The Paladins get on the board first and its 1-0 when #33 Gabe Cox nails it in the net with an assist by both #10 Diego Hernandez and #11 Caleb Johnson. The Paladins wasted no time in firing away on the ETSU goalkeeper Emil Holmberg. The Bucs fire back and get a goal themselves when #12 Berkay Duman gets it past Furman and the scored is tied up at 1-1.

The Paladins with 20 minutes left get back on the scoreboard and its 2-1 Furman as #20 Ryan Reid nets the ball with yet another assist by Diego Hernandez. The Paladins have 6 shots on goal compared to 5 by ETSU at this point in the game. The players are really getting after it on both teams and fouls are finally starting to get called in the game.

We reach halftime at Stone Stadium, and the Paladins allowed a last-minute goal by ETSU #29 Jamie Carrillo with a assist by #10 Ingvar Kolbjornsen. The game in the second half stays at 2-2 till Furman with 21 minutes left in the match scores a goal on a penalty kick by #10 Diego Hernandez gets his first of the night and its 3-2 Furman over ETSU. Furman at this point has 17 shots on goal with ETSU has 12 goals.
