RANKINGS
The Warhawks are ranked 9th in the latest national polls from D3football.com and the American Football Coaches Association while the Eagles are listed fifth in both.
LAST TIME OUT
UW-Whitewater cruised to a 26-6 win over then-No. 6 Mary Hardin. The Warhawks were dominant on the ground vs the Crusaders with 255 yards on the ground. They also paired well with 3 passing touchdowns. Eagles topped Division II Wayne State 31-22 in an impressive win. There offense looked like the complete opposite then the Warhawks. The eagles grabbed 4 passing touchdowns while only having 55 yards on the ground.
If whitewater wants to pull off the ranked upset the run game will determine it. Long history between these teams. Win the trench battle with the help from some of the best fans in football @ Perkins stadium. Control the game, keep the eagles offense off the field. The opposite is what the eagles need. I think a fast paced game favors the Eagles. Eagles have to establish the passing game and tire out the Warhawks.
SERIES
UWW is 17-12 against the Eagles in games played in Whitewater. Whitewater holds the edge in home field advantage in this series. To pull off the upset they are gonna need to pack out Perkins stadium.
