Anderson Trojans (2-0) continues a short two-game homestand this weekend as they open South Atlantic Conference play hosting the Pioneers of Tusculum University (1-1). Tusculum looks to bounce back from last week’s loss to Lenoir-Rhyne, while Anderson wants to open conference play after a great win last week versus Erskin.

For the second straight week the Anderson dominated quarter of action to extend their advantage, this time taking a 35-7 decision over the Flying Fleet of Erskine College (0-1) at Spero Financial Field. Senior Tyler Wesley (St. Cloud, Fla.) led the team through the air as he completed 11 of his 23 passes for 210 yards with three touchdowns. The Trojans used a four-headed monster on the ground as redshirt-senior JB Seay Jr. (Polk County, Fla.), freshman Zion Gilbert (Conway, S.C.), redshirt-sophomore Bryson James (Cross Hill, S.C.) and redshirt-sophomore Zaidon Gunn (Grovetown, Ga.) accounted for 175 yards on the ground with two touchdowns. Seay led all rushers with 65 yards while Gilbert recorded 40. James and Gunn were the two touchdown scorers, accounting for 37 and 33 yards, respectively.

Lenoir-Rhyne quarterback Khamoni Robinson passed for 280 yards and four touchdowns to lead the 24th-ranked Bears to a 28-7 win at Tusculum Saturday night in the South Atlantic Conference opener for both teams. Lenoir-Rhyne (1-1, 1-0 SAC) finished the game with 428 total offensive yards while the LR defense didn’t allow an offensive touchdown on the evening. Tusculum’s lone score of the night came on Xavier Gunn’s 34-yard interception return for a touchdown.
The Pioneers' ground game looks dangerous 😳
The 468 yards rushing were the most in Tusculumn’s Division II era and the third-most in a game in school history.#SACfb | @SAC_Athletics | @TusculumFB pic.twitter.com/wpf8xUDkzP

Both teams look to get the running games going, where Tusculum was unable to get its ground game going from the previous week, Anderson’s defense will look to make sure it never gets going in this game. Anderson’s offense under Coach Bobby Lamb will be balanced and will look to get a jump start early on the visiting Pioneers. Fans can look to see a very entertaining game Saturday at 2pm. Greenville Sports Media hopes to be on hand to give you the pictures, videos, and game notes as it happens each quarter.
