NASCAR Playoffs are Set and a Big Name is Missing

The regular season finale at Daytona took place Saturday night, August 23rd with tons of action on the track. Ryan Blaney had an incredible last lap passing thirteen cars to take the victory. If you win a race during the regular season, you are locked into one of the sixteen playoff spots. Since there were 15 different winners this year, only Alex Bowman was able to make it in via points. One of the most popular drivers in NASCAR, Kyle Busch failed to make the playoffs. Kyle Busch has not won a race in at least sixty-two races which is unprecedented for a driver who had won in every season he had driven up until 2024.

In the post below, you can see that Kyle Larson started the “big one” on lap 27/160. Bubba Wallace, Zane Smith, Austin Cindric were just a few of the drivers involved, but Kyle Busch was also involved eliminating his chance to win and make the playoffs. Kyle Busch’s teammate Austin Dillon won last week at Richmond to punch his ticket to the playoffs. Kyle Busch never really had a chance as his day was ended early due to this crash. Can Kyle Busch find his way to victory lane before the end of this season?

The playoffs will start August 31st at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. There are three rounds of three races with the lowest four drivers being eliminated after each round. The final race is a winner take all between the final four drivers who were not eliminated. As of right now, Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson could very well be the last four drivers standing but only time will tell. Chase Elliot will have something to say about how the playoffs shake hopefully, plus the road course ringer Shane Van Gisbergen does have a few road courses in the playoffs to potentially win at as well. Who do you think will win the championship?
